One-Stop Communications was opened in 1996 by Michael Buffington after leaving his position as an estimator and project manager for a local electrical contractor. In 1995, he started his own business wiring homes and businesses for communication products and services, such as business phone systems, computer networks, security, and satellite services. During his first year of business, he noticed the emergence of wireless phones and satellite TV as mainstream products. In 1996, after partnering with several companies to offer their products, Michael decided to open a retail store and hired his first full-time employee. Since then, One-Stop Communications has continued to grow and has become an award-winning retailer for many of the carriers and companies they have worked with. Today, One-Stop Communications is located at 101 East Market Street in downtown Lewistown. Their recent merger with Mifflin County Wireless and Telecentive is a testament to their determination for continuous growth and drive to provide Mifflin County with the most advanced communication services.
