I am a current Mifflin County Wireless Customer - Can I convert to fiber-optic?

For customers located on Juniata Terrace, we will automatically reach out and schedule your installation to convert your service from our fixed wireless to fiber-optic based service. Your package price will not change, but your package speeds will automatically be upgraded. 

What is the difference between fixed wireless and fiber-optic?

Fixed wireless service utilizes access points on shared towers that are located throughout our coverage areas. This service is great for rural areas where we don't have fiber-optic infrastructure currently. Fiber-optic service offers some of the fastest speeds available on the Internet today. It utilizes fiber-optic cables placed on the poles with drop cables that are placed on the outside of the home with a ONT (Optical Network Terminal) that connects the service to your existing router. 

How quickly can I get installed? 

We plan to begin installations the week of June 24th, 2024. This allows us time to perform testing and any troubleshooting needed on the new fiber-optic infrastructure. For existing Mifflin County Wireless customers, we will reach out to automatically schedule the upgrade of your service at no cost to you.
