Entering an ICE contact in a cellular phone allows emergency personnel to know who to call in an emergency situation. Almost everyone carries a cellular phone. Having an ICE contact allows emergency personnel will know exactly who to contact. The contact person should be someone who may know your medical history if you need help. This could be vital information in a life or death situation. ICE, therefore, could help save your life. ICE is so simple that everyone should take a few minutes to ICE his or her cellular phones. Simply enter a new contact in you cellular phone address book with the acronym ICE followed by the contact name (for example, “ICE – Mom” or “ICE – Sara”). Save this entry in your contact list or address book. Be sure to inform your ICE contact that you have selected them as an emergency contact.
